Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality, formerly known as Cradock Local Municipality, is a local municipality in Chris Hani District Municipality, Eastern Cape. The seat is Cradock.

Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality is governed by a 18-member council, and is divided into 9 electoral wards.[4]

Politics

2004 general election

In the 2004 South African general election, the ANC received 70.0% of the vote (16,351 votes), with the Democratic Alliance (DA) coming second with a share of 23.9% (5,368 votes). The 3rd biggest part was the, now defunct, New National Party, which gained 1.6% and 363 votes.

2009 general election

In the 2009 South African general election, the ANC's percentage fell to 61.4% (14,140 votes), with the DA increasing their total number of votes (5,455 vote), albeit a slight decrease in percent (23.7%). A new part, COPE, gained 10.8% of the vote, and 2,485 votes.
